CellAct-BT

Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) is a species of bacteria that lives in soil.
It makes proteins that are toxic to some insects when eaten, but not others.
The proteins are not toxic to humans because, like all mammals, we cannot activate them.

  Characteristics of Bacillus thuringiensis

  •   Rod-shaped bacillary bacteria with motility; spores are formed at the center of bacterial cells
  •   Gram-positive bacteria having insecticidal function and considered as a type of microbial insecticides
  •   Proteinaceous insecticidal δ-endotoxins formed along with endospores during growth control pests.
  •   Each of the toxins produced by BT is highly effective in controlling target pests and is not harmful to plants.
  •   Insecticidal effects against various pests including lepidopterans, dipterans, and coleopteras
